Robotic Applications In Medicine

According to the International Federation of Robotics, sales of medical robots increased by 73% compared to 2016 to 2,931 units in 2017, accounting for a share of 2.7% of the total unit sales of professional service robots. Today, robots are playing a critical role in various healthcare delivery segments such as surgeries, personal care, clinical training, medicine dispensing, disinfection and sanitation, telepresence, and logistics/delivery. Apart from these rehabilitation robots, receptionist robots, nursing robots, ambulance robots, and physical therapy robots are also generating significant demand. With each passing day, robots' scope in the healthcare sector is widening in multi-folds.
